On Saturday 24th August 2024, I will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with Newcastle Hiking group.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres). Our group will be aiming to summit all three peaks in under 9 hours.
Whilst preparing my fitness and leading up to doing this, I will be raising money for Anxious Minds.
Anxious Minds' overall goal is to improve the mental health of individuals (predominantly in the North East of England). It is clear that as the awareness and stigma issue is improving, however people still do not receive the support they need and it is Anxious Mind's mission to address this. Mental health issues are overwhelmingly difficult to control, manage and to understand.
Anxious Minds address this by sharing information as well as providing their own emotional support and advice - accessible to everyone via methods such as counselling, workplace support and training, online support networks and recovery colleges.
As a charity, their fantastic work cannot be sustained without the support of small donations.
I am passionate about these services and I am very pleased to be able to support this charity by raising money for this challenge.
I would appreciate any small donation from anyone who would like to support me as we raise money for this excellent (and important) cause.
Donation on behalf of my next door neighbours - Derek and Valerie Kerr.
